MBFC celebrated its FY2019 Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Resource Training & Solutions located in Sartell, Minnesota. The meeting reviewed the results of the fiscal year by showing our Board of Directors, Members, Lenders, and Government Officials all of MBFC’s accomplishments and success with the SBA 504 Loan Program.

MBFC also completed an award winning year based on the total number of SBA 504 Loan approved. They were awarded the MN Certified Development Company of the Year for the fifth consecutive year at the SBA MN Lender’s Conference for 2019.

The MBFC Lender of the Year is determined by which lead lender does the highest dollar volume approved by the SBA and MBFC during the fiscal year. This year our winner did a total dollar volume of $5.271 Million in SBA 504 loans which was comprised of 9 different projects.

Our Lender of the Year is awarded an all expense paid trip for 2 to accompany MBFC to the annual conference for the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO) annual meeting next November in Austin, Texas!

Carol referred a project for a total SBA 504 loan amount of $4.151 million dollars.

MBFC was honored to have special guests attend the meeting. From the SBA MN District Office: Nancy Libersky, District Director, Twila Kennedy, Lead Economic Development Specialist, and Alisha Podobinski, Lender Relations Specialist. Nancy spoke briefly and shared a positive future for Minnesota and SBA lending.

Also several political representatives from various state offices of Minnesota government were in attendance. The SBA 504 Loan Program continues to be supported by many in government, therefore, sharing the highlights of how the program is positively effecting Minnesota’s economy was a major highlight. The Office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar attended by having Andy Martin, Outreach Director present. The Office of U.S. Senator Tina Smith  attended by having Carson Ouellette, Outreach Director present. And, The Office of U.S. Congressman Tom Emmer attended by having Stacy Morse, District Director at the meeting.

King Banaian, Dean, School of Public Affairs, St. Cloud State University, spoke to the MBFC Membership regarding local and global economy, trade and various economic conditions in the current business climate. MBFC’s out-going Board Director, Tom Lambrecht, of Great River Energy, was also honored for serving several terms on the MBFC Board of Directors. Lambrecht is Manager of Economic Development Services at Great River Energy and remains a MBFC Member. Tom Saehr and Nadene Kruize presented Tom Lambrecht with an engraved mantel clock in honor of his dedicated service!
