Lender Small Business Excellence Award

On Friday, May 10th, 2019, Jay Johnson was awarded a Lender Small Business Excellence Award at the 56th Small Business Week Awards Recognition Event in Minneapolis, MN.
Jay Johnson has been in the Health Care Industry since 1992.  With assistance from BankVista and MBFC, Jay has utilized the SBA 504 program twice in recent years.  The first project was for the purchase of  Washington Place in St. Cloud, MN in 2017 and the second project was in 2018 for the purchase of Sunset Ridge in Annandale, MN.  The facilities are for veterans with chemical dependency and mental health illness.  The facilities provide a safe living environment with board, lodging, meal services, and transportation to medical appointments.

Jay, himself a veteran, joined the U.S. Navy in 1987 and became a Naval Corpsman at Balboa Naval Station in San Diego, CA and was later transferred to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina becoming a field medic with the Marines.  In 1989, Johnson sustained a spinal cord injury due to an auto accident.  After several years of physical rehabilitation, he returned to St Cloud State University to obtain his BA in Finance and BS in Economics.  Jay was happy to be a MBFC Vet Loan Advantage recipient on both of his projects, receiving rebates of $3,000 toward professional fees associated with his projects.
Through all his companies Jay employs over 200 people.  He has dedicated his life to his employees and to helping people with special needs live full, independent lives.
