MBFC Highlighted Success at
FY2015 Annual Meeting in Saint Cloud

Minnesota Business Finance Corporation (MBFC) featured a 2 day Fall Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Holiday Inn in Saint Cloud, MN to present the highlights of their 2015 fiscal year.

Benjamin Winchester was the featured guest speaker on Wednesday night at the social and awards evening. Winchester is a Senior Research Fellow with the University of Minnesota Extension Office. He spoke to the group about his research findings about “Rewriting the Rural Narrative” including his main points that agriculture is no longer the mainstay of the rural economy, rural is changing-not dying, and showed statistics on what is rebuilding rural communities/demographics.

Highlights of the Membership Meeting included being awarded by the MN SBA District Office as MN CDC of the Year for both dollar and number of 504 loans generated. Nancy Libersky, District Director of the MN U.S. SBA office said a few words to the Membership emphasizing the growth in MN SBA 504 loans overall that have helped many small businesses.

MBFC finished FY2015 with 87 Loans Approved for $47.8 million dollars in SBA 504 debentures that facilitated total projects of $128.6 million. MBFC closed 80 loans for $60.6 million dollars, a record dollar level for MBFC.
